I pointed out to the LAN agent all of the loss luggage forms on the desk. The LAN agent confided in me that this month was a big month for loss luggage. One guy loss FIVE pieces of luggage!
This blog is great! I just spent an hour "with you" on your journey. Congratulations on getting your backpack back. What a trip! I relate strongly to the inner questioning of "why am I here" in certain places overrun with gringos. I treasured the places that were off the beaten path yet still "doable", feeling a more authentic connection with the folks with whom I was interacting. Yet without experiencing the Mantanita's it is perhaps harder to appreciate the sweeter spots. It's all experience.
