When I returned to port with the broken plastic zipper, the Darwin Scuba shop wanted me to buy him a brand new wetsuit for $500. I told him he was crazy. I went to the police to grab a policeman to mediate the situation. I pointed out that the wet suit was cheap equipment to begin. Plus with all the rips and patches; no way was it a new suit. Finally we agreed that I would pay for the zipper to be professionally replaced off island which meant I had to cough up $80! What a miserable experience! I chalk it up to just another extortion.
