He is the owner of the hostal that I have been staying in Cuenca. He is 70 years young and does things like a 50 year old. Here he has the results of today's shopping at the Mercado. Unfortunately he is not a very good negotiator taking whatever price he was quoted by a Choleta.
He was shot twice in the Peruvian Ecuador war, cooked for his platoon omlettes made of Iguana eggs (which he didn't eat), left home at 12 years old, married Dolores 20 years his junior, and spent his professional life as a jeweler. He is very personal, loves to sing/dance and a very good human being.
