It is serious business. They have many political parties. President Correas party is the Alliance, denoted by the green. The people here spend a lot of time, energy and money on it. Two main parties will compete this Sunday for the mayor of Cuenca. One is the incumbent Alliance party candidate and the other Red, White & Blue party is putting up a previous mayor. My teacher is voting, but voting for none of the above.
