We took the dive boat out to the middle of the bay. From there we covered a wreck at 45feet. There was lots of sea life: sea snake, parrot fish, baracuda, big star fish, sea cucumber; all sorts if tiny fish and large schools of mid size fish.

Feb 28: Dive a wreck
Feb 2 8: diving a wreck
My two co-divers had never dove before. No schooling or training. Nada. The guy did pretty well although the dive master had to drag him everywhere. The girl couldn't muster the wreck dive. But the dive master took her to a swimming hole to work on her confidence.
Feb 28: update
I am having problems uploading photos from where I am staying. The signal strength is not very strong.

Feb 27: kind captain
I saw this guy on the street in town. He had the Guardia Costa insignia. I told him I was in the Coast Guard. He told me he was the Captain of the boat. He invited me to tour his ship!
Feb 27: One of two express boats
For a two hour ride to San Cristobal from Santa Cruz island. Actually I was pleasantly surprised with the size of the boats. They ran on three 200s outboard engines. All the blogs made the inter island boat ferry sound like some single motor skiff with no spray or sun guard.
Feb 27: World Circumnavigation
John had me over for dinner to meet his three other crew mates. He made seared tuna from one of the fishes from the open air market. Most of the crew are from the Northeast. It was fun to check out the boat. Most of the other boats are from countries other than America. It seems you need to have some means to do it.
