A friend of his calls him 'the machine.' Where I walk the normal speed of 4kmh, Chase walks 7kmh! He once walked 110km in 15 hours! He will cover the 1000km of the Via la Plata in a couple of weeks. He averages between 50 and 60km per day. I am lucky to do 30-35km per day. The guy is a self described junky for the Camino. For the last ten years he has been spending a lot of his time walking the various Spanish Caminos backwards and forwards, trailblazing Caminos that few have ever heard. I suggested he take all that energy and walk the length of the Americas. He may do it!
