The refuges are spread throughout the park. It is a good way to either do the six to nine day circle or do the three to four day 'W' of the park. I would have done the refuge but advanced booking is necessary. My planning around Torres del Paine wasn't very good.
The mountain in the background is where the initial ascent to the hike is.
