Mar 13: maps 2

Today I am taking a bus from El Calafate to El Charlatan.  Fitz Roy Mt is here, named after a British Captain.

The ice field is actively created by the combination of the prevailing winds and precipitation coming from west to east, and hitting the altitude of the Andes at the latitude, forming a snow pack that turns to ice.

Like most of the world's glaciers,  as a whole ice field these are getting smaller.  However Perito Moreno (just a glacier as part of the ice field) happens to be getting larger simply by the way it is formed.
